How do I apply for Medicare?

You can complete this process through two methods: either In-Person at your local Social Security Office or Online. For assistance, feel free to contact a licensed agent at (213) 322-3542.

When should I apply for Medicare?

You have a 7-month window to apply for Original Medicare. During the 3 months prior to your 65th birthday month, the month of your birthday, and the 3 months after your 65th birthday.

How do I apply for a Medicare Advantage or Supplement Plan?

Medicare Advantage and Supplement Plans are offered through private insurance companies. Our friendly agents can help you find a program that meets your needs and budget. Remember, there is no cost to use our service. Simply call (213) 322-3542 to speak with a licensed agent.

What if I missed my Initial Enrollment Period?

You missed your 7-month window for enrolling in Medicare, your next
opportunity to enroll in Part A and Part B will be during the General Enrollment Period, January 1-March 31. Coverage will then become effective​ July 1.

Can I apply for Medicare in person?

Yes you can, but you’ll need to go to a local Social Security office to apply in person. If you’d like to apply for an Advantage or Supplement Plan in person, simply contact our office and request an appointment. Please note, you’ll need to apply for Original Medicare before you can enroll in an Advantage or Supplement Plan.

Are there penalties for enrolling late?

Yes! If you do not enroll in Part B coverage during your Initial Enrollment Period, you could be subject to premium penalties for as long as you have Medicare coverage.
